Your priorities for improvement at the stations

We also wanted to know how you would like the stations to be improved in the future. You said you wanted to see:

• Improved security (13.5% of respondents) - you would like to see anti-social behaviour reduced through increased police presence, security officers and CCTV. You also want to see better enforcement of regulations and more ticket inspections.
  
  
• Improved toilet facilities (12.8% of respondents) - you wanted to see more toilets provided at every station, and would like these to be cleaner and better maintained.
  
  
• More information (8.9% of respondents) - you would like to see clear, up-to-date information provided at all times, particularly when there are delays or cancellations.
  
  

Ongoing improvements:

• We have extended and upgraded the CCTV at all stations, and employed more security officers. We have also gained “secure” status for all our stations, making us one of the safest and most secure rail networks in the country.
  
  
• We are working on a simplified and more consistent Penalty Fares scheme, making it easier to combat fare dodging and anti-social behaviour.
  
  
• We are continuing to provide new toilet facilities throughout the network.
  
  
• We are improving the provision of information, particularly through increasing the number of Customer Information Screens on platforms.
