What our passengers think about our trains

Our trainsOverall our passengers are pleased with our services. Over half of you rated nearly every feature of our trains as ‘very good’ or ‘good’. In particular:

  • 74.0% rated the ease of getting on and off the trains as ‘very good’ or ‘good’

  • 71.6% rated the punctuality of trains as ‘very good’ or ‘good’

  • 66.2% said the helpfulness of our staff was ‘very good’ or ‘good’.

We are pleased that most of you did not rate many aspects as ‘very poor’ or ‘poor’. That said, there are a few areas that have been flagged up as in need of a bit of improvement, such as the price of tickets, announced information and the cleanliness of trains.

We are working on maintaining the high levels you expect, as well as improving the aspects you rated poorly. We will continue to demonstrate that we have the lowest average fares in the country and are limiting price increases to no more than the rate of inflation for the next 20 years. We are also working on improving information provision and ensuring our trains and stations are always clean.
